FAQ

I made an order, how do I get my games?

IsThereAnyDeal does not sell games. We track various shops, and only show you games they sell, and for what price.

If you bought some games, to get them you will have to go to the shop where you made the purchase.

I'm not receiving notifications, why?

Generally, there are three scenarios why you're not receiving emails.

First, maybe you have notifications disabled somewhere. Admittedly, there are many different settings that affect this. The simplest way to check is to go to your Waitlist settings, where you will see notifications checkup.

If that didn't help, maybe there just weren't good enough deals for you to be notified about. This is handled by your notification rules you have assigned to your games. You can easily check this in your Waitlist. Choose one of your games and click on Details, which will open popup. In the left column of the popup, you will see whether you have notifications enabled or not. If you click on the Email Notifications button, you will get even more detailed info about why notifications might not be happening.

Lastly, maybe you have ended up on a suppression list. This usually happens if your email provider starts refusing our emails, you mark our emails as spam, or somewhere in your email interface you hit unsubscribe. If you are on a suppression list, you should be able to see that in either of the checkups mentioned in previous paragraphs, where you can also resolve it.

Why do some games have multiple pages, listing only some shops?

The main reason behind this is that not all shops always list the same game in a same way.

In a nutshell, we are matching games based on their title. There's some cleanup and associated process that is trying to help with that, but so far I wasn't able to come up with a better solution. When the same game has different title on different shops, that may cause it to be spread out across multiple pages here.

Special case is Steam. On Steam you have app page, which has its title and it's usually what you consider to be a game's title. App pages then list products, which are the things you actually buy. Usually, the base game will be listed there, followed by editions or bundles. The issue is when publishers use different name for the game page and different name for the base product. This is often the case with Asian titles where the game page is in English, but the product name is in the native language.

We are trying to match these when we find them, and you can also help us by reporting these games from their game pages using the Report a Problem link. You will need to be signed in.

What shops do you cover? Are they safe?

We only cover shops that we consider authorized. That means we can be reasonably sure the keys are sourced from legitimate sources (either directly from publishers or from authorized distributors). This ensures that the risk of the keys being invalid is minimal and the developers still get their cut.

You can see the list of all shops we cover in Shops page.

Why don't you cover shop x? It has good prices!

Good question! And complicated answer. Maybe we just don't know about it! There are some shops that we covered in the past but are not tracking them anymore, because it was not technically feasible. Or maybe the shop is a marketplace, or what we would consider grey market shop, and that's why it's not included.

To know for sure, you can always just ask us.

How do you verify shops?

First of all, we try to verify the source of the keys. We ask the store to provide a proof of what they claim. This is usually a contract, agreement or order from the distributor.

Then we check for red flags on shop itself. We try not to make a judgement about how good or bad the shop is, that's what we have shop reviews for, but we try to see if everything is in order, whether the shop itself works, and few other things like that.

Why do some shops have red dot and some green? Are red shops bad?

Not at all! These are just colors we assigned to shops to help with identification. Most of the time you will see that just as a small dot next to the shop's name, sometimes the color may be more pronounced, for example as a background color in voucher lists.

What countries do you cover?

The list of countries and currencies we cover may change over time. Not only that, it may also change for each individual shop. There are two ways to see what we cover. If you are on a game page, you can switch to Regions tab, where you will see regions, currencies and prices we track for each shop.

The other way to see countries is in Status page. There you can see countries we cover for each shop and the tracking status.

What if my country is not covered? Does that mean I don't see accurate prices?

Not necessarily. For Europe, we track directly France, but the rest of Europe falls back to France, and with few exceptions it should provide you with accurate prices, since EU is generally treated as one region anyway.

For the rest of the world, we fall back to US, so you will see US prices. This may also be the case if the shop does not have regional pricing for your corner of the world.

How do you handle currencies?

For all countries we track directly, we use their currency.

In case the shop does not have pricing in the currency of countries they sell to, we will convert prices on our end. This is common with smaller shops, where they will often sell worldwide, but only in USD (sidenote: even if the shop only shows prices in USD, they might still do regional pricing! It's complicated).

If you are from a country we don't directly cover, we might still detect your currency and convert prices on the fly for your convenience. You can switch to any currency at any point.

How do you make money?

Until 2024, we made money solely through affiliate partnerships we have with various shops. You can always see if the shop is affiliated with us or not based on the icon. If you buy games by clicking on these links, we will get a small cut of the price you pay. That's why sometimes you might see adblocker block some of the links. They contain tracking info, so the shop knows you went there through us and can pay us commission.

Since 2024 we also have Patreon if you want to support us directly. At a certain tier you can turn off affiliate links if you are not comfortable with them.

Do you have an API?

Yes, you can find more about it in the documentation .

How old is ITAD?

I always forget. I rather not think about it. But I started it somewhere around June 2011.
