The Theater of the Mind is a VR application designed to allow users to experience the Gainsfeld effect. What's the Gainsfeld Effect? When you are exposed to completely even stimulus, the brain begins to make things up, resulting in hallucinations. To achieve this, the user is presented with a solid color field and white noise. After about ten minutes, most people will begin to experience mild hallucinations, such as mandala patterns or spinning circles. During longer experiences, these hallucinations can become more vivid, resolving into figures, changing colors, and a dreamlike state where time becomes condensed. The effect is best experienced with headphones, a comfy chair or bed, and a calm state of mind. Enjoy!
